Basement tanking costs can vary depending on quite a few factors:
• Size of the basement
• Which system is being installed; cavity drain membrane, cementation, tanking membrane or an external damp proof membrane?
• Years of guarantee for the system installed
• Ease of application/ access to install the system
• Complex detailing
For a standard cellar or basement, tanking costs an average of £60-70m² can be applied and the areas above will have to be taken into account. Underpinning of walls also have to be considered. Liquid coating systems come in 5-40 year guarantees and depending on the current walls in place (i.e. may need to be rendered/ ‘slurry’ coats added to achieve a flat smooth finish, ready for the basement waterproofing.
For the cavity drain costs this would also depend on the membrane used and the pipe work for the water system and which type of sump pump will be used, costs for these can greatly vary.
As with all tanking costs preparation is the key.
